This site is dedicated to my father, who taught me how to love the RedSox win or lose. He brought me to my first game at Fenway along time ago. He still  watches the Sox or listens to them on the radio every game.

IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT RED SOX SONG - By Joe Pickering

I have been trying to write the perfect Red Sox Song but I am stuck between two opposite feelings. I glory in our Red Sox's glory but I must admit that I also gloried in their gory!  How could not we not all love them so because our Sox brought us to the pinnacle of success only to flop fabulously in the end.  Now that feeling is all gone and there is a lingering of well we aren't so different than any other team now. On the other hand...our Red Sox team's triumph was by far the greatest comeback in sports heroes and oh I loved, we all loved that wonderful thrill of winning and winning finally.  And, it wasn;t  just that we won but how we won it!  Beating the Yankees four straight is like climbing Mount Everest on your knees blinded with the arms tied behind your back in the middle of a blizzard. Then, the Cards collapsed like well a deck of Cards.

So,given those two feelings welling up within me, I wrote two songs and I am putting in this article the choruses.  Which of the two song choruses do you like?  IS IT HELL FREEZES OVER or WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR. Both songs will be in my upcoming CD called Sports Songs and Beyond! Here the choruses of both songs:

The two above song lyrics represent two poles apart view of our beloved Red Sox. Hell Freezes Over glories in the greatest comeback and victory in Baseball History. The other Wait 'Til Next Year pines for the day when we lost gloriously. I know it is hard to believe but isn't there a little bit of you missing the old woe is me and my poor Red Sox theme?  Come on admit it!  Here are the choruses of both songs:

HELL FREEZES OVER OUR RED SOX HAVE FINALLY WON
THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO IS ALL DONE
HOW DID OUR SOX DO IT?  IT'S PLAIN TO SEE
THEY PLAYED THE GREATEST BASEBALL IN HISTORY

The other song lyric is:

WAIT 'TILL NEXT YEAR

WAIT 'TILL NEXT YEAR WAS THE RED SOX BATTLE CRY
FILLED WITH ETERNAL HOPE THAT WOULD NEVER DIE
BUT, OUR WHOLE WORLD ENDED OUR RED SOX WON IT ALL
OH! THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN WINNING IN THE FALL!!

C 2005

I hope you will enjoy the two songs and the rest of the CD Sports Songs and Beyond. Thank you for being a Red Sox fan.  It means you have a lot of guts and determination and a strong belief that determination with the right spirit will prevail! But, as I said in my previous article ...Be vigilant Red Sox Fans..The Babe may be Back!!!
